Danny began playing piano at the age of 10 in his hometown of New York City. After a few years of tackling such pieces as Beethoven’s “Fur Elise” and Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven,” he became drawn to jazz piano. In high school, Danny was named a Clifford Brown/Stan Getz Young Talent Fellow and was selected as a Presidential Scholar in the Arts. Through this, he was chosen to perform at a ceremony for President Clinton at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.

Danny received his B.A. in Psychology from Harvard University in 2002 where he received the John McCord Award for excellence in the arts. While at Harvard, he maintained a busy performing schedule and produced two CDs of original compositions. Since graduating, Danny has been living in New York City where he currently teaches, performs, and composes.

He has been the pianist for the Big Apple Circus, a national touring circus, for four years and has also performed with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, among other jazz groups. He has also been studying classical piano for five years with concert pianist John Kamitsuka and is preparing for his debut recital this fall. Danny has taught children and adults of all ages both privately in Boston and New York and at MusicWorks in New Canaan. In addition to pursuing music, Danny loves to cook and watch baseball.
